My Sister’s House was founded in 2001. Its headquarters are present on Freeport Boulevard in Sacramento, CA. The organization is primarily serving the Central Valley region.
The main aim of this non-profit organization is to provide shelter, job training, and community services to Asian and Pacific Islander women and children. It extends support to survivors of human trafficking, domestic violence, and sexual assault.
The organization has also partnered with various groups in different regions of the country so it can collectively boost results for the Women to Work program. This is a special course launched to facilitate job placement for women and work towards their financial security.
Under this program, it maintains My Sister’s Cafe which is a volunteer-based platform. My Sister’s House also runs a 24-hour support line for crisis intervention. Currently, it is operating two centers under the Safe Haven Shelter Program that provides cover and basic life necessities to those without shelter.
My Sister’s House accepts clothing donations in addition to other charity items. Additionally, it has several thrift stores which you can visit right here!
